Faithful ministry with LGBTQ youth means listening to, believing, and seeking to understand the reality of the youth in our care. This is easy to say, but difficult to do in practice. Political and societal pressures can prevent us from seeing and understanding the young people standing in front of us. In this session, we’ll talk about sources of resistance to LGBTQ (and especially transgender) youth, including the political and societal attacks they’re facing. We’ll discuss how to rise above these attacks and be the allies and ministers they need.
Join Ross Murray, author of “Made, Known, Loved: Developing LGBTQ-Inclusive Youth Ministry” and founder of “The Naming Project,” for an hour of wisdom, action steps, and discussion!
This is a 60 minute lecture-based workshop with a time for discussion and questions. The workshop is open to everyone, and will be recorded. We’ll be sending a link to the video out to all ticketholders after the session, so you’ll be able to view the event even if you can’t participate on the day.
